Nick inspired me to play bass.

like i've always wanted to, but i was on shrooms one night and i was laying down staring at my guitar cuz its neck was like all long and short and it was cool, but anyway, i was listening to Rated R. i listened to it like 5 times and everytime the bassline in 'Better Living Through Chemistry' stood out alott. and i was like "i need to learn that. and that instument." so. i'm a bassist. thanks Nick.

coolness.
cliff burton did it for me.
I had put it down for about seven years, but hearing "fine art" on rated R inspired me to pick it back up again. I just HAD to learn that bass line. nick's timing makes me crazy. most gifted bassist in rock currently, in my opinion. yeah, there's a lot of talented guys out there, but most I find boring. plus he's a great vocalist.

It's eerily exactly the same for me (except the shrooms bit). After listening to Better Living Through Chemistry it made me realise how you can play bass and be really creative.
Les Claypool from Primus was also a hero but I knew I could never play bass and lead at the same time in a band so Nick must take credit there for all of my monumentus urm... works...hmm

Geez... I'm boring...

I picked up a bass because I got in contact with a band I had been told needed a new guitarist, but then they said they needed a bassist, so I went out and bought one :P

haha yeaah. i saw COB on gigantour and there was a meet and greet with Alexi, Roope, and Henkka.  Looking into Alexi's eyes was so intimidating, but i swear i came like 4 times.
