UK Download Festival anyone?

Is anyone coming?
The line up isn't that good but I got my tickets before I knew who was playing which was a bit silly.

Here's the line up http://www.downloadfestival.co.uk/lineup/index.aspx

I just realised this would be more suitable for the music section. Ah well, it's snug here but if Jason has the skills to shift it I'd be delighted wink.gif

Nah, last time I went to Download Marilyn Mason was headlining smile.gif Think it was 2004? Audioslave was the best bit of the weekend and it put me off. Not enough to amuse myself with in the daytime...

I've just got tickets for zoo8 though, felt I had to as it's only 40mins away from me, it would be rude not to! Plus The Hives are playing, who I have a soft spot for actuallysmile

Other than that and the Bull Dog that is my lot for festivals this year, did Glasto for 2nd time last year and decided it would be the last cry

Really want to do Rock Werchter in Belgium next year, they always have an awesome line up and cheaper than Glasto, plus you don't have to wake up at stupid O clock to get tickets, bonus!biggrin

I'm usually a Leeds or a Reading boy but we decided to try Download for a change. I'm getting quite excited about it now.
I'vr been to All Tomorrows Parties before as well at Camber Sands. The year I went Mogwai, Shellac and Tortoise were curating and they had Turbonegro, Lightning Bolt, Envy, Trans Am and lots of other delights.

I always think how having gigs at Camber Sands is so strange, it's like a little weird, time warped ghost town! And it is about 10mins from where I live biggrin

It's cool to have a load of indie kids go karting, playing crazy golf and even attempting games of football.
The geekyness is also funny. Steve Albini went into one of the bars there and became surrounded by people chanting his name. Where else could that happen?
Also John Peel was there and we saw him leaving the building to get to his car. A couple of my friends quickly started to head to him but to only be met by John Peel power walking and then speeding off in his car. Aw, my ickle John Peel memory.
