Found this interview with The Knives and Nick says on there that once the Oz tour was finished mondo is back to being a side project and is having a 'looooong break'. Bummer.
Guess that means no new stuff for a few years and there was me hoping for a UK tour, sniff sniff.
Here's the interview for those that are interested: [youtube=http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=higUQFLObeQ]

I honestly think Nick doesn't realise how good the Mondo stuff is, especially the Dead Planets. I think I'm right in saying that the critics liked Dead Planets more than qotsa's LTP. And the critics have always had a boner for qotsa!
There's been little commercial success from Mondo but if he keeps at it he's always going to have a cult following.
I was only thinking the other day how years and years ago I saw Kings of Leon at Brixton when nobody knew who they were, 7 years on they are no. 1! I know they are slightly more comercial but hey, times change!
I understand he has to earn a crust but I don't think he realises how good Mondo could be. If only it had the money to launch with good PR and Marketing, it could be so different!

I got the Knives' first album and it's ok but very repetitive. He could've picked a better band to be a part of, but I know he'll improve the band just by joining. Bummer that Mondo is on the back-burner again.
I'm totally disappointed, but not at all surprised. I'm sure there will be some radness w/The Knives since Nick is involved, but I'd much rather listen to Mondo.
