Hmm uni for me is good and bad... good = going on prac. bad = theory...
i seem to handle practical based learning so much better than sitting down and being talked at... I should be enjoying uni, but im soooo not.
What're you studying?
Majoring in Public Relations and Journalism at the moment. Changing Journalism to Professional Writing & Publishing in November and getting exempted from the whole thing (woo!). Just working on my electives and a PR unit this semester. I've got 12 units to go... probably less now though. I had 4 Journalism units to complete at last count.

I don't have the passion anymore. I kinda lost it while studying Journalism, which is the reason behind me changing my major. The PR thing is what I want to do.

Eugh i totally get where your coming from. I really love my nursing pracs, when im actually out in the hospital, and literally getting my hands dirty (even though at times its gross when a dirty old man bars up, when im washing him)... But the theory is what kills me. im much more of a practical learner, and sitting in a lecture theatre with 500 other people just doesnt work out so well for me... eugh.
Exactly. And seeing as I've had a lot more experience than 95% of the people studying the same degree, I kinda think that I shouldn't be there and should be out working. Sadly, the chances of you getting a job when you haven't gotten that bit of paper (no matter how much experience you've had) are pretty ****ing slim. I also failed a unit last year because I was put in a group where I hated everyone in it (the feeling was mutual). They'd purposefully schedule meetings knowing that I couldn't be there and then bitch to the lecturer about it. I failed by 3%. So, next year, I'm going to go back and rock that unit with my fantastic idea that should've been used to begin with. Basically we have to make a campaign for a non-profit organisation (eg. Starlight Foundation) and we can choose from re-branding, an event or something else. My stupid group chose re-branding last year and didn't bother to say what the purpose for our campaign was. I kept asking them "what's the purpose?" and they'd shrug and act like it wasn't needed. IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!! My idea is to do a music festival and totally rip off Bob Geldof, haha.
Oops. Sorry for the rant.

i failed a science subject by about 3% as well last semester. pisses me off, because now i have to either do about 5 subjects in one semester (which is getting hard, because i have 6 week prac blocks coming up :s ) and seriously... a few percent?! GRR i hate uni. bring back hospital based nursing plz! Hahahahaha
I'm in the process of filling out a job application for this awesome WAMI job. I get to be the All Ages Program Manager if I get it, hehe. I've been recommended by the beautiful BDO administrator. Eep!!!!

oooooh! thats pretty exciting! i want a new job. i HATE my job 70% of the time. I think if my shop got a new manager, then itd be fine. but faaark, sometimes i just want to shake him, and maybe shake some sense/balls into him! jeeez!
I know that feeling. And my advice is to find a new job, haha.
Well... I'd prefer it if it was for the Big Day Out so then I can be paid to travel around the country with that festival every summer... but thats hardly going to happen... then again, I didn't think that Kristy would put my name up for this other job... so I guess anything is possible, hehe.
